Today being Varalakshmi pooja. Yesterday the house underwent some spring cleaning and beautification. As the official kolam drawer of the house, I had fun playing with water and flour.
Wow! Lovely! Kolams are a fascinating art, like free hand drawing... I grew so interested in them when I was about 8... During the whole month of Margazhi, I used to get up early and paint our front yard with rangolis...
Somehow down the line, lost interest in it... Coz we no longer had a spacious front yard..:( More than the rangolis, I love the ones with lots of curves, without any color... the paati style of kolams...
Nice idea to blog this... I will follow regularly:) The maa kolam looks really cool..
GP : Codes funny? Hummm. The image is actually a repeat of smaller images so it could be that. If you see it in a smaller window it moves down - ill design something one of these days ;p
Coloured rice for rangoli? So that'll have the same procedure as with salt, excpet rice doesn't soak up water fromt eh atmosphere... hmmm... interesting, thanks.
I am interested in this sort fo stuff, mostly for college fests and all, so ... find these little by the ways bits fo information you drop fascinating.
Camphor : this is the easiest way to do it any time - instant kolams - just make sure the mixture of flour and water is not too think or too drippy and vohla draw ur designs ;)
ive never used salt
glad you liked them - just don't have enough photos to update often ;)
u should check the other website vortex for more designs ;)
